The world seeks to rob you of any peace you have. There is no question about this. Turn on any electronic device you have (phone, TV, tablet, laptop, etc.), and 99% of what hits your eyes and ears is designed to do two things:
The world seeks to rob you of any peace you have. There is no question about this. Turn on any electronic device you have (phone, TV, tablet, laptop, etc.), and 99% of what hits your eyes and ears is designed to do two things:
- Piss you off
- Frighten you/Freak you out
It's difficult to be in the world and not "of the world" (#meta). While this sounds pretty hippie-dippie, another way of stating this is that it's wise to ignore 99% of the garbage that's running around in the world currently.
This doesn't mean that someone shouldn't be aware of the current state of things, but rather, be aware that the "information" that comes from one's "screens" is contaminated. Try and avoid things that are contaminated.
This blog is coming to you through a screen, but I hope and pray that all of the content posted on this blog, since November of 2016, is enriching and edifying.
On that note, it's 5:32AM, and I've typed enough. I'm going to begin as I always do with prayers and meditations and breathing exercises/Pranayama. Physically, I'm feeling very good, but am still incorporating longer training runs throughout the week (60+ minutes last night), and this stiffens my lower back and legs.

My Asana's (physical postures) that conjure up the most typical visions of what yoga is, have been simple and steady for the past few weeks. I've gone through a heavy Sun Salute warm up followed by a few standing bends and then my closing sequence, but I haven't gone through a full Ashthanga series in awhile. I'm allowing my practice to stay where it's at for now, as I don't want to overblow it and loose momentum.
Still, it's 6:59AM as I type this and the time on my mat is 1.5+ hours so I still equate that to a strong foundation.
Time to shower up, and enter the world.
Namaste
